Keeping It Cool

It's Saturday, you're ruffled from your epic sleep-in and you don't have the time nor the patience to piece together an intricate outfit. But deck your cupboard out with comfortable, effortless pieces – and you won’t need to invest any thought at all.

Like the easiest puzzle in the world, we've got simple elements that you can just throw on and walk out the door. First, start with fresh bottoms and then work your way up. "I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans," Yves Saint Laurent once confessed. "They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes."

Denim For Days

So take cues from this style legend, because a classic jean will set you up for 99 per cent of day adventures. You can’t go wrong, whether it be cropped, loose, tight, studded or brightly coloured. Make a statement in something loud or be the statement by going chic and simple. Go for ripped or chambray if you're feeling cool, then pair with a simple shoe and scarf.

Up Top

Tops can be trickier - unless you have a handy stash of knit jumpers ready to go. If it's super early and you haven't even had a coffee yet, neutral hues will be your saviour because they'll go with anything. Think white, camel and chocolate. But if you do opt for these, ensure your accessories don't clash. Dusty browns will look best with camel and tan accessories, while grey and black can butt heads - so opt for trimmings in charcoal, nude, bright or white. With that said, don't be afraid to wear a statement colourful top and keep everything else sleek + neutral.

Set It Up

Another great option for those who want to look like they tried without putting in the effort, is matching up from top to toe! Adorn sets and be the cutest in the laziest way!
